Film
Film has long been a passion, and when I can I try to take steps into that world. Lately this has manifested in making video diaries where some of the inspiration in presentation lies in people like Jonas Mekas. My video diaries from being a homeowner in Texas carried Likes from respectable viewers on Instagram.
Filmmaking Then and Now
Grant-Winning Artist
I've been awarded a Creative Projects Grant from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition for a past short documentary that screened on Film Row in Oklahoma City and led to jobs teaching film to students after school on the south side of OKC.
Seeing one movie a week in physical theaters is a part of my iterative practice (plus more at home).
Lately I'm confined to the written word, and I am working on long Substack pieces on Martin Scorsese and Lena Dunham, while other projects percolate in the idea stage. Hopefully living in Los Angeles (and working hard) increase my chances of being a more active and engaged multi-disciplinary artist.
